Todays News Bits:
- Having cut service fees but not parking and venue fees for its weekly “Ne Sevice Fee Wednesday” sale, concert promoter Live Nation decided to bundle them together with an “all-in” discounted price on amphitheater lawn tickets this week. (Associated Press)
- YouTube has had great difficulty finding a way to make revenue from its millions of visiters since starting up. Today they started trialing yet another advertising system; users have the option of watching one “Promoted Video” at the beginning of the clip, or choose to see a few different in-stream ads throughout the clip. - Facebook have finally caught up with Myspace in the U.S. according to new data released today. In May, Facebook had 70.278 million unique visitors whilst Myspace came in just behind with 70.255 million. (TechCrunch)
- Australian CAFE and restaurant patrons could soon be eating in silence, after a proposal by Australia’s largest record labels to increase the cost of background music by up to 2000 times. This follows a decision by the Copyright Tribunal to increase music fees in nightclubs by up to 15 times. (The Age)
