Myspace To Lose More Staff Outside US

layoffs 300x210 Myspace To Lose More Staff Outside USIt’s not been a good month for the social networking giant.  First they are overtaken by rival Facebook, then they cut 30% of staff in the US, and today they confirm that another 300 international employees will get the chop. All this is a result of Myspace struggling to attract new visitors to the site, presumably due to the saturation and lack of new features (features that actually benefit users, not cripple them).

As well as cutting 66% of staff, Myspace have stated they will be closing 4 offices outside the US.

CEO Owen Van Natta said in a statement “As we conducted our review of the company, it was clear that internationally, just as in the U.S., MySpace’s staffing had become too big and cumbersome to be sustainable in current market conditions.”

Looks like Myspace are heading down a slippery slope, is it too late for them to recover? Jason Nazar at Docstoc.com thinks not, I posted an article from him at the weekend where he lists 7 steps for Myspace to get back on track.
