Get Funding For Your Project With Kickstarter
I just stumbled upon this little site called Kickstarter. It’s a community site that helps fund projects for musicians, artists, filmmakers, journalists, athletes, inventors, explorers etc. The project creator starts a fund on the site and people pledge money to help them reach their target amount. Creators offer rewards to encourage people to pledge money. The project must be successful in raising the full amount in order to receive the money.
If, like me, you’re skeptical about people giving their hard-earned money to strangers to record an album or shoot a film, a quick look at the site will show you that people are raising thousands of dollars for their projects!
At the moment the service is free and Kickstarter let you keep 100% of the money you raise. However the site is currently running in beta and is invite only, when it launches to the public a fee is expected.
